One UI 5.1 is reportedly in the testing phase, to debut with Samsung S23 family

The upcoming Samsung S23 series might debut with One UI 5.1 based on Android 13 according to a new report.

The report claims this update is currently being tested on Samsung S22 Ultra which was the most premium phone on the S22 series announced earlier this year.

Samsung announced One UI 5 a couple of months ago which is based on the latest version of Android OS – Android 13.

And as of the time of writing this piece, they have already rolled out this update to almost all devices eligible for it. But it seems they are not done yet as they most likely will start rolling out the One UI 5.1 some days after the launch of the S23 series.

The Samsung S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra are among the most anticipated phones of 2023’s Q1. They will reportedly be announced in early February and scores of their specs and features have already been revealed via various unofficial channels.

We currently do not have much about what will change between One UI 5 and One UI 5.1 but an October press release from Samsung hinted at more customization options for lock screen.

One of the top improvements that One UI 5 brought to numerous Samsung phones that have received the update is lock screen customization which includes the option to change wallpaper and clock style.

However, it didn’t include the user’s ability to customize notification pop-ups. The One UI 5.1 is expected to unlock this option for the users among other things which might include some Android 13 features that are not available on One UI yet.
