Samsung Announces the Galaxy S23 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and 3900 mAh Battery

One of the most anticipated smartphone series of the year is now official and the base model is the Samsung S23.

The Galaxy S23 is a 6.1 inches Infinity-O display smartphone featuring a Full HD+ screen resolution at 2340 x 1080 pixels, 425 PPI pixel density, and 120Hz adaptive high refresh rate.

Its LTPO adaptive refresh rate display can be varied between 48Hz and 120Hz. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, has Always-on Display, and supports HDR10+. It comes with the same Dynamic AMOLED 2X display panel as its predecessor.

Samsung S23 is powered by Qualcomm’s most powerful mobile chip – the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 which has proven to be significantly better than its predecessor – the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. It runs on One UI 5.1 based on Android 13 out of the box.

The Galaxy S23 is packed with a 3900 mAh battery capacity and supports 25 watts of fast charging. Though, it does not come with a charger out of the box.

Talking of things the S23 did not come with, like most Samsung flagships in the past few years, the S23 does not come with an SD card slot, FM Radio, and 3.5mm headphone jack.

Samsung S23 is equipped with IP68 dust and water-resistant certification. It supports WiFi 6e, USB Type-C 3.2, Bluetooth 5.3, 5G, eSIM, and NFC.

On the photography side, nothing much has changed compared to its predecessor. It is equipped with the same triple camera setup as the S22 which comprises a 50MP primary camera with OIS, 12MP Ultrawide, and 10MP telephoto. There is a bump in the selfie camera from 10MP on the S22 to 12MP on the new S23.

Samsung Galaxy S23 is available in Black, Cream, Lavender, and Green.

It will be available on the 17th of February 2023 in various markets across the world and you can stay up to date about Samsung Galaxy S23 Price in Nigeria.
