Similarities and Differences Between Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus and iPhone 13 Pro
1.) Design
The S23 Plus and iPhone 13 Pro have clear differences when it comes to design.
The S23 Plus uses a punch-hole display and has thinner bezels than the iPhone 13 Pro which uses a notch display.
Both the punch-hole and notch housed the selfie camera and in the case of the iPhone, also the Face ID sensors.
It is well-known and accepted that iPhone’s Face ID is better and much more secure than Samsung’s Face Unlock or Recognition.
Samsung S23 Plus front and back are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and has an Aluminum frame while the iPhone 13 Pro front and back are protected by what Apple called Ceramic Shield Glass and has a stainless steel frame.
Samsung S23 Plus is equipped with an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor while the iPhone does not have it which might have been called a Touch ID.
If you turn to the back of these two smartphones, you immediately see the clear differences in their camera arrangement.
The S23 Plus uses a triple camera setup which is arranged vertically and each sensor stands on its own while the iPhone 13 Pro’s triple cameras are arranged in a triangular form with a module holding them together.
Both devices come with IP68 ratings meaning that they are both dust, sand, and water resistant. This does not mean you should drop them in the water and walk away. They are water resistant not waterproof.
2.) Display
Samsung S23 Plus is a 6.6 inches Dynamic AMOLED display smartphone with a 120Hz high refresh rate, 1750 nits peak brightness, and 2340 x 1080 pixels screen resolution.
The iPhone 13 Pro on the other hand is a 6.1 inches Super retina XDR OLED display smartphone with a 120Hz high refresh rate, 1200 nits peak brightness, and 2532 x 1170 pixels screen resolution.
Neither of these devices supports Stylus Pen.
3.) OS and Processor
Samsung S23 Plus runs on One UI 5.1 based on Android 13 out of the box while the iPhone 13 Pro runs on iOS 15 out of the box but it is currently upgradable to iOS 16.3.
The Galaxy S23 Plus is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (for Galaxy) processor with Adreno 640 GPU while the iPhone 13 Pro is powered by an Apple A15 Bionic processor with Apple GPU (5-core graphics).
4.) Camera
iPhone 13 Pro is equipped with a triple camera setup at the back that comprises 12MP main, 12MP ultrawide, and 12MP telephoto. It also has a 3D depth sensor called LiDAR.
The Samsung S23 Plus is also equipped with a triple camera at the back that comprises a 50MP main, 12MP ultrawide, and 10MP telephoto.
Samsung S23 Plus can shoot up to 8K videos while the iPhone 13 Pro can only shoot up to 4K.
Both devices come with a 12MP selfie camera.
5.) RAM and Storage
Samsung S23 Plus has 256GB and 512GB internal storage options both of which can be paired with 8GB RAM while the iPhone has 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB internal storage options all of which have 6GB RAM.
Samsung S23 Plus storage is UFS 4.0 while the iPhone 13 Pro storage is NVMe.
6.) Battery and Charging
Samsung S23 Plus is packed with a 4700 mAh battery with 45 watts wired charging, 15 watts wireless charging, and 4.5 watts reverse wireless charging support while the iPhone 13 Pro is packed with a 3095 mAh battery that supports 27 watts wired charging, 15 watts MagSafe wireless charging, 7.5 watts Qi wireless charging support but no reverse wireless charging.
7.) Connectivity: Samsung S23 Plus comes with Bluetooth 5.3, USB Type-C 3.2, and tri-band WiFi 6e while the iPhone 13 Pro comes with Bluetooth 5.0, USB Lightning 2.0, and dual-band WiFi 6.
